Ivy River Cleanup on Sat., Feb. 18 On Saturday, Feb. 18, RiverLink (and hopefully some partnering organizations from Madison County -- let me know!) is doing a cleanup along the Ivy River on the approximate two miles from where it ducks under 25/70 to its confluence with the French Broad. We'll work the banks of the river and along the roads. All the trash beside the road will wash into the Ivy and into the FBR, so consider this a preemptive strike against litter! We'll meet in the grassy area on Ivy River Road across from where Boulder Road intersects (point X on this map) and work towards points Y and Z. RiverLink will provide trashbags, yellow vests, gloves, and pickup sticks. RiverLink staffer Dave Russell will provide support. Clothes that can get wet and dirty are recommended, as are sturdy shoes. Due to the amount of traffic and the narrow shoulders on the roads, we recommend leaving kids and dogs at home :-( Contact RiverLink's Dave Russell if you have questions -- 828-545-9099 -- or in case of doubts about the weather. www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4caea82ba1f49-ivyriver
